Douglass Trojans - December 2020 Basketball Preview Feature - Presented by OU ROTC

BOYS
Coach: Nathaniel Jones
19-20 Record: 17-12
There are plenty of positives for the Douglass Trojans coming into the new season. According to coach Nathaniel Jones, this team is just as fast and athletic as the great teams of the past at Douglass. “Our goal is to get back to the big house and hopefully be in the final mix for the state championship,” said Jones. Elijah Banks (6-2, Sr.) is a multi-purpose player who can play inside or out. Banks averaged 18.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. Quincy Jones (5-11, Sr.) is a transfer from Classen SAS and is expected to make an immediate impact. Jaylen Rollerson (6-0, Sr.) moves in from Tulsa where he played for Memorial HS and will probably run the point for Douglass. Jeremiah Jones (6-4, Jr.) starts at forward where his athleticism comes into play. Jones is a match-up problem for most opponents. Erius Knox (6-4, Sr.) can guard 1-5 on the floor and is a weapon on the offensive end. STW – Banks is one of the top players in the class and possibly one of the top pure shooters in the state.
