Mustang’s Gretchen Freshour: Mom of the Month – Presented by INTEGRIS Erin Balzer, DO – IFC Mustang – Family Medicine with special interest in Peds

This month’s Mustang “Mom of the Month” recognition goes to Gretchen Freshour.
“I was quite surprised as I know there are a lot of deserving moms out there. I honestly like to work behind the scenes and don’t do it for notoriety or to be the center of attention,” said Gretchen. “So this award is stepping way out of my comfort zone!”
Volunteering has been part of Gretchen’s life since her eldest daughter was born. Starting off volunteering in her church's nursery led to children’s church, VBS, Angel Tree Prison Ministry, soccer teams, and more.
“To me, it is part of raising children and it takes a village,” said Gretchen when asked why she volunteers.
Currently, Gretchen holds the position of President for the Mustang High School Cheer Booster Club. Gretchen doesn’t have much of a typical day as a volunteer due to the covid-19 response, but she has chosen to see the glass as half full and is determined to make this a great year for the cheer team and especially for the seniors.
Gretchen is a mother to two girls who are just sixteen months apart. Jaycee is a freshman at Bethel College and Rylee is a senior at Mustang who is part of the cheer team. Gretchen has been married for twenty-one years to her husband, Brian, who supports her and the girls in everything they do.
When Gretchen isn’t volunteering, she works as a media specialist for the junior high school in Moore as well as a site technologist. In the little free time she does get between work, being a mom, wife, and volunteer, you can catch Gretchen jamming out at a concert or traveling with her family.
