Piedmont’s Lindsay Griffin – Mom of the Month Presented by INTEGRIS Ashley Cochran, DO – IFC Surrey Hills – Family Medicine
By Travis Sloat
Even though her role as softball booster president for Piedmont is completed, Lindsay Griffin remembers her time fondly.
“I was the booster president for three seasons, from 2018 to 2020,” Griffin said. “I loved organizing the events and making sure the season ran smoothly for the coaching staff and the parents. I always wanted the best for the girls, and loved working close with some of my lifelong softball mom friends.”
As the softball booster president, Griffin said she organized events like senior night, pink out night, and the sports banquet. She also managed social media for the Wildcats.
Griffin had two daughters pass through Piedmont High School, Madelynn, who graduated in 2017, and Ellie, who graduated in 2020. The girls played soccer and softball, respectively. She said her family has lived in Piedmont since 2011.
“We love the small town feel and the close school community,” she said. “I have always loved kids. I worked for Putnam City Schools for eight years. I left in 2017 to spend more time with my kids and work at our family business.”
The siren song of volunteering came calling soon after, and continues even though Griffin is no longer a softball booster club member.
“I currently volunteer at Hope for Generations,” she said. “It’s a non-profit ministry that works in northwest Oklahoma City. I also volunteer in LifeKids at my church. I will definitely miss hanging out with the players and the parents, but I will spend more time with family and volunteering in my community.”
