The Memorial Bulldogs are eager to take the field and erase the memory of the 2019 season. Head coach Luke Orvis has spent a total of 14 seasons at Memorial, three of which as head coach. “We have some seniors who have been anxiously awaiting their chance to lead our team,” said coach Orvis. “I am excited to see how they will continue to grow as players and leaders. Our junior class is not big in numbers, but the ones we have are very valuable to this team and fill multiple important roles for us. We also have a very talented sophomore group who is hungry to prove themselves.” Ryan Bussert (5-11, 175, Sr.) is a bright spot for the Bulldogs last season. As the kicker, Bussert was 4-6 with a long field goal of 44 yards. He was 12 of 14 on extra point attempts. Bussert also averaged 35.5 yards per punt with 11 punts inside the 20-yard line. Quarterback Carson Riney (6-4, 185, Sr.) completed 71 of 165 attempts for 889 yards throwing six touchdowns. Jacob Varnell (5-10, 200, Jr.) will play running back but is capable of contributing to the passing game. Jalen Spencer (6-0, 260, Sr.) and Rob Ray (6-0, 200, Sr.) will anchor the offensive line this season. Edmond North transfer Cormon Goff (5-7, 190, Sr.) is another running back the Bulldogs will look to this season for production on offense.

Devon Polley (6-1, 310, Sr.) is one of four returning starters to the defensive side of the ball. Polley had 70 tackles with three sacks and two recovered fumbles from his defensive tackle spot. Ian MacDonald (6-2, 195, Sr.) is a productive linebacker making 140 tackles, nine for a loss. MacDonald has led the team in tackles for two seasons. Aidan Hamlin (5-11, 175, Sr.) joins Blake Chandler (6-3, 175, Sr.) and Cade Adams (6-0, 190, Sr.) in the secondary. Hamlin had 29 tackles and one interception last season. Brady Stone (6-2, 220, Sr.) will start at defensive end where he recorded 35 tackles and recovered one fumble. The Bulldogs will utilize the 4-2-5 defense this season. The coaching staff consists of Scott MacDonald, Clay Sizemore, Matt Cutaia, Connor Myers, Corbin Frank, Chris Malone, Mkwai Williams, Jeff Lovett, Tyler Shaw and Brock Harris.
