Moore's Adria Ramirez – "Always Ready" Athlete of the Month Presented by U.S. Coast Guard
By Derrick Smith
Adria Ramirez would not be the person she is without many people that have greatly influenced her life.
“I’m surrounded by a lot of great people who influence me to be the best I can be every day,” she said. “But some of my biggest influences are my family, coach, and college friends. My family has always supported any decision I make and continue to do so. My dad is the hardest worker I know, so I try and be like him. My coach has a lot of faith in me and that pushes me to do better. I have a couple of friends that play soccer at OU, and they are my role models because they leave everything out on the field and have worked hard to be there.”
Ramirez is a senior at Moore High School. She is a member of the Lady Lions’ soccer team, mainly playing midfield, but also outside defensive back if needed. She started playing the game of soccer when she was four years old.
She has put in countless hours, but Adria says that is what is required in order to be your best.
“I have put in a lot of work to get where I am today,” she said. “There has been a lot of practice and fitness. Also, playing games and having practices year-round have also been key.”
A lot of great memories have been made during Ramirez’s career, but she says that there are a couple of moments that stand out the most.
“One of the biggest highlights for me would be when our team made it to the playoffs during my freshman season,” she said. “Also, playing in DA with my club team was great.”
Along with her sports, Adria is also a member of the National Honor Society, student council, The Jungle, and Moore Love. Outside of school, she plays for Oklahoma Energy FC.
