Coach: Malcolm Roberts

2019-20 Record: 11-14

The Lady Bluejays are excited to begin this new season after a rough season last year. They ended with an 11-14 record and fell short of their goal of the state tournament, but head coach Malcom Roberts says that he likes his team’s chances. “We have the talent and coaching staff to make a legitimate run to get our tickets punched into the state tournament.” Leading the team this season will be Anjewl Murillo (5-7, So). She can score and rebound, but she also makes her playing environment better for all those involved. She averaged 15 points, four steals, and two rebounds per game a year ago. Kyra Wheeler (6-0, Jr) is a smart and hardworking player that is expected to be a vital player for the Lady Bluejays this season. McKenna Gatson (5-7, Jr) is the top defensive player for Roberts’ squad. She will be a force to be reckoned for opposing offenses. Mariah Dightman (5-7, Fr) is joining the varsity squad this season and is a true scorer. She should be a valuable asset for the squad. Others to watch this season are Madalyn Jones (6-1, Jr), Bella Aitken (6-0, So), and Ania Morgan (5-7, Fr). SOMETHING TO WATCH - The Lady Bluejays have not advanced to the state tournament in thirty years.
