The Canadian Valley Tech Athlete of the Month is Corbin Gordon, a senior wrestler at Yukon High School. Gordon was the 6A State Runner-up in the 220 weight class and finished the season with a record of 31-4.

“I feel like my season went pretty well,” said Gordon, “I had a lot of success this year. It was a great way to finish things out and I finished first or second at all of our tournaments this year so it was really a great way to finish out my senior year.”

Gordon is in his second year in the Diesel Technology program at Canadian Valley Technology Center and speaks highly of the class and his teacher.

“I went in there not knowing much about diesel, but my instructor, Flint Edwards, really came in and just let us know that he would teach us anything we wanted to know. He’s taught about car cosmetics, diesel and gas vehicles, also how to diagnose and has also taught us life skills outside of mechanics,” said Gordon.

Because of the program Gordon is currently doing on-the-job training at Midwest Bus Sales in El Reno and says he’s really loving the experience.

Besides wrestling, Gordon also played football for Yukon and was the starting left tackle. He excels in the classroom with a 3.67 GPA and gives back through the Partners Club, working with kids in the Special Olympics. After graduation he plans on attending to SWOSU to pursue a career in teaching and coaching.
