Aiden Godbehere is a junior wrestler at Edmond North, wrestling all three years for the Huskies at the 106 and 113-pound weight divisions.

The Huskies finished the regular season undefeated with a 13-0 record, earning them the No. 1 rank in Class 6A. Edmond North defeated eight ranked teams in the process, including the nationally ranked Mustang Broncos. In the duals final match, Godbehere sealed the 33-29 victory against the Broncos with a reversal in the final 10 seconds to win his match.

“Aiden is a technical and aggressive style wrestler,” said Rico Jaurdon, Godbehere’s club coach. “He constantly puts pressure on his opponent while looking for opportunities to capitalize on their mistakes.”

The Huskies were also crowned as district champions this season after defeating their district opponents by a combined score of 150-12.

“His willingness to be a student of the sport stands out,” Jaurdon continued. “He constantly calls or texts me with questions regarding wrestling and training techniques. We have video review sessions to break down the technique of the top high school and college wrestlers in the country.”

Godbehere, returning state qualifier, credits coach Jaurdon as a major reason for his success on the wrestling mat.

“He’s helped me with the mindset that it’s not just about wrestling,” Godbehere said. “He’s taught me great wrestling technique but also many life lessons.”

Upon graduation in the spring of 2022, Godbehere plans to attend Oklahoma State University to major in mechanical engineering. He hopes to become a mechanical automotive engineer and enjoys working on cars in his free time. Godbehere’s latest project is fixing up his 1996 Ford F-250.
