Edmond Area Players to Watch

Tennis - Boys

Reid Rainwater – Edmond North

Reid is an outstanding player looking to make a big impact at the top of the lineup. He has dealt with some considerable setbacks in his tennis career, and he is excited to be healthy and ready to compete during his first full high school season.

Tennis - Girls

Claire Meursing – Edmond Santa Fe

Claire has played #1 singles for Santa Fe the past three years, qualifying for state each year. Her best finish was her sophomore year placing seventh at #1 singles. She works hard on the court and represents Santa Fe very well.

Track - Girls

Reydon Walker – Crescent

Reydon is a solid competitor that has worked hard to become the standout athlete that she is today.

Golf - Girls

Lauren Hurd – Deer Creek

It depends on how she performs this season, but if she has a breakthrough year she could turn some heads.

Brooklyn Benn – Oklahoma Christian School

Brooklyn Benn is one of the best players in the state. She plays local, state, and national level tournaments and competes on multiple Junior Tours and is being scouted by numerous colleges.

Maddi Kamas – Kingfisher

Maddi Kamas has signed with Oklahoma City University. She is ranked the number one golfer in the state. She finished individual runner up in 2019.

Golf - Boys

Austin Dolan – Edmond Memorial

Great student and golfer. He is a hard worker, a competitive team leader, who is dedicated to his team.

Jordan Wilson – Edmond North

Jordan is a solid team leader with a ton of experience. He won the Oklahoma State Amateur tournament in the summer of 2019. Was ready to have a tremendous season last year before the season was canceled due to covid but has come back this year ready to help lead the team back to a state championship.

Rhett Hughes – Edmond Santa Fe

Just a sophomore but a seasoned tournament player. Has only been playing for about two and a half years but picked it up really quickly. Long for a sophomore but great all-around game.

Luke Huckaby – Jones

Huckaby is a returning player who finished just outside the state-qualifying round as a freshman. After missing his sophomore season due to Covid-19, he has returned ready to form and make another run at the state tournament during his junior year.

Mitchell Rice – Edmond North

He is a great kid who is working hard to make a big impact on the team.

Track - Girls

Calen Cox – Crescent

Calen is a solid athlete and also excels in the classroom. She is one that can do whatever she puts her mind to.

Track - Boys

Foster Penhall – Edmond Santa Fe

While he is an underclassman, Foster has the skills and abilities to be a great track athlete.

Golf - Girls

Alex Peters – Oklahoma Christian School

She knows her way around a golf course and has the ability to play a solid game anytime she gets a club in her hands.

Golf - Boys

Will Casey – Edmond Memorial

A hard worker, Casey is a good kid that will do whatever helps the team.

Parker Sands – Edmond North

A great kid on the course and in the classroom, Sands is the ideal student-athlete.

CJ Phillips – Edmond Santa Fe

He is a good golfer that has worked hard to improve his game.

Track - Girls

Angela Martinez – Crescent

She is a hard worker and a great athlete. She should have a solid season.

Track - Boys

Luke Stevens – Edmond Santa Fe

A focused athlete, Luke is a hard worker that is willing to do whatever he needs to better himself.

Golf - Girls

Makenzie Duncan – Oklahoma Christian School

A good golfer, Duncan has the potential to have a great season.

Golf - Boys

Scott McPhail – Edmond Memorial

Scott loves the game of golf and it shows when he is on the course. He is also a hard worker.

Shane Herlihy – Edmond North

A solid athlete, Herlihy looks to have a good season for the Huskies.

Oliver Gomez – Edmond Santa Fe

Integris Edmond 250

Oliver may go under most people’s radar, but he is an asset to the Santa Fe golf team.
