Guthrie High School Character Counts recipient, Trinity LeGrande, is just a junior this year, but has already made her mark on her school and community and has been nominated for the Dr Pepper “Hometown Hero Award”.

“It was an honor to be recognized by my coaches and teammates,” said LeGrande.

Having good character can mean many things, but for LeGrande it is, “to be caring, honest, and to have good responsibilities.”

Being just a junior this year doesn’t stop this girl from being involved. LeGrande plays left field and second base for the high school’s softball team, runs the 400 and 800 meter dashes in track, and is also involved in student council, yearbook, and the link crew. Outside of school Trinity is also involved in activities outside of school such as taking photos for her local church’s website as well as volunteering in Children’s Church on Sunday.

Staying motivated can be difficult for any student, but she takes great pride in what she does and in doing it well.

“It’s a sense of pride and accomplishment to be the best that I can be,” said LeGrande.

Balancing a busy school, sports, and home life schedule can be a challenge for any young person, but Trinity stays on top of her hectic schedule by staying highly organized.

“I prioritize and organize everything that I am involved in,” said LeGrande.

The community of Guthrie is important to this high school student and she feels blessed to be part of such a wonderful community.

“Guthrie is a strong community who supports each other through family friendly events,” LeGrande said.

In this busy student and athlete's life Trinity does manage to find some free time and when she does you can catch her spending time with her friends and watching some movies.

Even with Trinity still having another full year of high school left after this year, she is already making plans for her future. After high school she plans on attending Southern Nazarene University to earn a degree in business.
